QR Nexus — Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
Effective: October 7, 2026
This policy covers "QR Nexus" (the "App").
In plain words: this is a purely local QR code tool — code generation and recognition both
happen on your own Mac.
1. What we collect
Nothing.
- We do not upload the QR contents you generate or recognise, nor your images or file paths.
- We do not upload your templates, settings, or usage history.
- No analytics, no tracking, no advertising SDK.
-
All settings stay on your own Mac, inside the app sandbox:
~/Library/Containers/com.mac.gcdev.g01/
2. How the App handles your data
Generating and reading QR codes
- Codes are generated on your Mac; results are written straight to the file you choose.
- Recognition uses Apple's built-in Vision framework and runs offline on your Mac.
- Images come only from files you explicitly pick in the system picker; nothing else is scanned.
- Neither codes nor images are uploaded, and nothing is written to a log.
- Batch processing reads and writes files on your Mac only.
3. The only things that go online
-
App Store in-app purchase (unlocks the full feature set).
Payment, receipts and refunds are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details and
never receive your name or account. -
Purchase verification: after a purchase or restore, the App sends Apple's
transaction identifier and the App's bundle identifier to the developer's server to
confirm the transaction is valid. No receipt file and no device identifier are sent.
The App also submits a randomly generated local identifier with the transaction so the
purchase can be matched up; it contains none of your personal information.
Beyond this the App makes no network requests.
4. Permissions
- The App does not require Accessibility or Screen Recording permission, and does not use the camera.
- It only accesses files you explicitly grant through the system picker.
- Uninstalling the App removes its sandboxed settings.
5. Third parties
The App includes no third-party analytics, advertising, or data-collection SDK. Any network activity involving Apple is itemised under "the only things that go online" above.
6. Your rights
- Delete your settings: just remove ~/Library/Containers/com.mac.gcdev.g01/
- Uninstalling the App also removes its sandboxed data.
